How to use WeTransfer Australia
WeTransfer is an online platform through which you can send your friend files as large as 2 GB, absolutely free. You don’t even need to register and hence can send files in no time. If you want to send even larger files, you can go for the option of Plus Account which supports 20 GB of files at a time, storage of up to 100 GB and you also get to protect the important files with a password.
So, how to avail of this service? We have broken down the procedure into steps:
Step 1: Open a browser, e.g., Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc. on your computer. You should do this on the same computer where the file is stored which you wish to send.
Step 2: Proceed to the address bar and type in www.wetransfer.com which is the website through which you’ll send your files. Alternatively, you can also type We Transfer in the address bar and open WeTransfer’s website from the search results.
Step 3: Hover to the text “Add your files” which also has a blue plus button near it. Once your mouse is on the specified location, it will show you some information about files to be added. Click the mouse at this location.
Step 4: Locate your desired file on the widget that has opened which will add the file to the list.
Step 5: If you want to send multiple files, click the ‘Add more files’ button that has now appeared and follows the same procedure.
Step 6: Click the mouse on the “Email to” text and write the email of the person to whom you want to send the file. As the information shows, you can send this file up to a maximum of 20 persons.
Step 7: Once you have entered all the recipients’ email ID(s), enter your email ID on the text ‘Your Email’, entering your email ID here will let you be alerted when the receiver downloads the file.
Step 8: Now, click on the button ‘Transfer’. First, the files will be uploaded and then will be sent to the person(s).
Step 9: Before transferring, you can click the three dots (...) which will let you edit some settings including when should be the file be deleted if you have a plus account. If you have a normal account, the file will be downloadable for seven days which is non-editable.
Step 10: Once sent, open your email account and view the email confirming that you have sent the files to the concerned email ID(s). There will also be a link from where you can download and preview the file you have sent.
Step 11: If you click the link or copy/paste it to the address bar of a web browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc., a WeTransfer webpage will be opened from which you can download the sent file.
Step 12: Click the download button to start downloading the file. Above the download button, information will be shown regarding the expiry time of the file.
Step 13: Save the file on your computer through the widget that has opened. You may also change the location of the file to be saved through this widget.
