How To Put Contact Lenses In: Tips
Contact lenses are little seeing aids that are put in your eyes and can help you see without having to worry about wearing glasses. They are very convenient but at the same time they are not natural. Many people need tips when putting them in to help make the experience easier.
Step 1: Wash Your Hands Thoroughly
Whether putting in your contact lenses or just rubbing your eyes, you should always wash your hands before you do it. The debris and germs on your fingers can cause an eye infection which will keep you from being able to put in a contact lens at all. Don’t forget to use soap!
Step 2: Avoid Touching The Lens
Touching a contact lens more than necessary can damage the lens. You can also get oils and debris on the lens that shouldn’t touch your eye. Only use the tip of one finger to place the contact lens in. The preferred finger by many people is the index finger.
Step 3: Look Up
Whenever you are putting your contact lens in or taking it out, look up. This will make it easier to get the contact in and out. It also can make your chances of damaging your eye less.
Step 4: Blink
Blinking after your contact lenses are in allows your contact lenses to get natural moisture and to help them properly set. It will also help you to ensure that the contact lens isn’t going anywhere.
Step 5: Eye Irritation Can Come From Damage
Sometimes your eyes will hurt when your contacts are in and it isn’t from how you put them in.. If you are already using solution to help keep your eyes hydrated, it could be due to damage on the lens. Take the contact out and examine it for any kind of damage.
